  I hire from Avis all the time around Australia and the world and I am on their Avis preferred program. As a general rule I feel Avis offer good value for money with great customer service and are a quality car rental company. But, I have to say the check in to pick up my car from Surfers Paradise Avis recently was somewhat unusual and not at all consistent with my overall experience with Avis. Nothing terrible but just not what I expected at all. I have hired from Coolangatta airport many times and always have a great experience there and is a relatively local alternative if you are on holiday or business in the area and want to hire a car with Avis.

  do whatever possible to avoid AVIS- customer service is shocking, all im trying to do is contact a centre after they should have opened an hour ago, noone has diverted the phones so have been going to voicemail, tony from nerang has no other options other then to waste my time and keep calling, their customer service hotline doesn't listen to prompts and to think i was going to pay to extend. surfers paradise is a bad location with bad staff, don't waste your time

  You deserve Zero star. Poor and rude customer service and staff.Dont go to Avis. They changed me $427 unnecessary . Stop blaming the customer when you fail to find the any information in your record or system. Even the car we used they said they dont have that car ( i Provide the car registration number than lady said no we dont have that car ) . Stay away people.

  WARNING, Stay away from this Avis outlet.
  I am an Avis Preferred member for over 20 years, but this company took it upon themselves to list me as a security risk as I couldn't return the car to the Gold Coast due to covid 19 restrictions.
  Then over-charged me by nearly $1000.
  You simply cant get hold of them,
  And they appear to be very vindictive.
  Avis head office wont do anything either.
  Sorry to say, Avis is no longer the company it used to be.
